Noveltea Pins & Magnets

Sorry you haven't heard from me for a while. Georgia and I have been busy creating these new pins and Magnets and the little cards they adhere to.  But if I am to be truly honest, Georgia has been busier them me plugging away at her design station, sometimes battling with a computer that wants to crash as soon as a new design is finalized.  But at last, they are here and it's time to celebrate with that bottle of sparkling tea I brought home from Tea an'Tiques Tea Shop.  So, here they are:

 

 

 

I chose the name "Noveltea" for my new line of 1" Pins and Magnets from the definition of "novelty" combined with "Tea". 

novelty (nov' el-tea) n., pl.-teas 1. The quality of being novel; newness. 2. Something new and unusual; an innovation. 3. A small massed-produced article, such as a toy, a trinket.

They are just now being added to my Store, and retail shops have started ordering them. Each set of four is available in either pins for $5 or magnets for $6.

June Is A Special Time

THERE'S SO MUCH TO CELEBRATE!!!
I have three students to congratulate this year. One successfully completed his first year of High School, another is graduating from High School, and a third is completing her third year in College.

And there are dedicated teachers I need to convey my appreciation for, who not only gave my children life long skills, but the ability to accomplish whatever they put their minds to.

I can't forget to acknowledge those at school who contributed in other ways.  The Admins who kept us informed of events, the lunch lady for her kind words, the counselor for guidance, the fund-raiser ladies, the nurse, and even the truant officer.

We have two wedding to attend this month also.

A new baby definitely qualifies as a special occasion.

And there's always that one person who just needs to know they are cared for just because.

When school is finally over,
I'll hope to have more time to visit with friends.

There's a small quilt I want to make this Summer as a gift.

I have a few people to write who I haven't seen for a while.

My brother needs encouragement
for the great new job he's starting.

I don't have a sister, but I have an awesome sister-in-law who would appreciate a little surprise note.

As the month comes to a close, someone dear always
seems to move away or go on an extended trip.

But the good news is, it doesn't have to cost a lot to express your thoughts with those special to you this month, because all these 12 cards are now

Set To A Tea

Delicate pink rose Teacups, petite Tea Spoons, a sweet Heart tea infuser, luscious Raspberry tea all on a vintage lace table clothe... Well, I can't think of a better way to relax this Mother's Day!  But I cant forget the kids, the husband, and the dog (which my hubby got on Mother's Day).  Without them I wouldn't have a reason to celebrate.  Hurray!!! Mother's Day will be here soon!

Tea House

Isn't this Tea House Tea Infuser adorable? I've always loved this little infuser which reminds me of having tea with friends around my kitchen table.  This petite Jam Spoon is also perfect for stirring milk and honey in delicate teacups, not to chunky, with a charming antique teapot on the end.  For a special treat I love serving Harrisons & Crosfields delectable Forest Berries tea with it's fragrant aroma and gorgeous deep pink color. February Sale

In honor of Valentine's Day this month, we've marked down red and pink Teacup Greetings cards to half off in the KimberlyShawStore.

The Camellia is a relative of the tea plant and a favorite flower of mine which is one of the only flowers to bloom in the winter.

Painted from my own set personal of China from Royal Albert with pretty pink flowers which looks fantastic on a Valentine's table, or outside for a garden tea party.

Painted for the many "Mums" who have taken such good care of us, even if they weren't our actual mom.   See all the red and pinks cards in my store now on sale.

Inspired by Jonathan

This funny story is from Joan who used to work for me.  Joan and her husband were missionaries in Indonesia, with their 3 small boys.  Once when arriving at a restaurant in town to have dinner with friends, her son, Jonathan, excitedly ran ahead to see  a lotus pond.  Dressed in his nicest clothes, he got too close and slipped in.  He sat in the restaurant wet and dirty from his adventure. Joan, knowing of the diseases that plague the water in their warm tropical climate, was so worried he would get sick.  He didn't.  Inspired by this lotus pond story, I painted a "Get Well Soon" Teacup Greeting card with Harney & Sons Sencha Green Tea.  The inside reads: "Sending you warm get well wishes."

With almost everyone I know feeling "under the weather" ALL my Get Well Cards are  now HALF OFF  in my store.

Freedom

This was a fun card to watercolor. The teacup depicts Paul Revere galloping out into the night to warn the British are coming, with a stamp on the bottom which reads, "Made in England." I don't know about you, but I think it's funny the English made a Paul Revere teacup.

I continued painting the flag on the back of the card with a quote from the last lines of Francis Scott Key's poem "Star Spangled Banner":

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Teacup Nightlights

Nightlights are a wonderful addition, illuminating the way to a dark sewing room, craft room, or guest bathroom.  This sweet porcelain butterfly teacup nightlight would be adorable in a girls bedroom. A little extra light is helpful now that we've just moved our clocks back for daylight savings time.

Edmund Loves Tea

Like most Brits, Edmund loves his tea. This morning he woke up with a cup of Harrisons & Crosfield's hearty Scottish Breakfast, a full bodied black tea with a rich "malty" flavor, delicious with milk and honey. This afternoon he had a cup of fruity Mango, black tea naturally flavoured, delicious plain.

Autumn Luxury

This beautiful add announcing our new Teacup Greeting cards and Notepads was created by my very talented Graphic Arts genius, Georgia. She titled it "Autumn Luxury" but truthfully, the real luxury is the blessing of her creativity. This looks awesome, Georgia!!  She also marvelously designed seven new notepads using the artwork from my greeting cards. And that nut she asked me to paint, well here it is. It's also on the back and inside the "Woodland Holiday" Teacup Greeting card and matching notepad.

Did you ever sing the Sunday School song about Peter and John healing a lame man, where they said to him, "Silver and gold have I non---, but such as I have I give thee---, in the name of Jesus Christ---,  of Nazareth rise up and walk" ? I always think of that song when I hear "silver and gold" mentioned together.

Cute Stickers for Sticking

Tea House Tea Bell

This Tea Bell design has always been my favorite. I admire the strainer holes that form the door, windows and the word "TEA" on the roof. For me it portrays an image of home. I've made it available in my store at www.kimberlyshawstore.com.
